Blackrock ICA - Rock of Ages.
Dundalk has been selected as one of 15 towns nationwide to highlight Positive Ageing Week this year from September 24th to October 2nd 2010. The ladies of Blackrock ICA have been very busy, organising an event, for that week called “Rock of Ages”which will take place on Wednesday 29th September 2010.
They have planned a one day inter-generational event with many different activities, including:- Zumba Tai Chi Children's Art Exhibition Photograph Exhibition Art Classes Story Telling Poetry Reading Pilates Yoga Music and loads of great CRAIC!
Working on the basis that one thing all ages have in common is that, every day, we’re all that little bit older, they have planned a day suitable for anyone from 4 to 94! All activities are FREE! This will not be a fund-raising event but a celebration of community. Community spirit is strong in the area and it is the kind of thing that will be embraced.
Contact Mrs Vivienne Keenan, Blackrock ICA Secretary on 0878228932 to discuss this matter further, if you wish to be part of "Rock of Ages".
Blackrock ICA meet every Wednesday in the Community Centre in Blackrock. | |||||
Feargal Quinn looking for butcher shops in Dundalk.
Feargal Quinn’s Retail Therapy is a six part series for RTÉ One where retail innovator Feargal Quinn offers advice to retailers who are struggling to stay afloat in the current economic climate. The series is looking to champion independent Irish retailers who represent individuality on the streets of Ireland’s towns and cities. Feargal is passionate about helping businesses who are putting it up to the multinationals and offering Irish consumers something different than they would get anywhere else in the world. Feargal will help these businesses to eradicate their weaknesses, exploit their strengths and identify a unique selling point which will make them stand out from the competition and attract customers to their door.
Last year’s series was a great ratings success and the businesses involved have reported an improvement in both sales and staff morale as a result of their involvement in the programme.
The series will be on air at the beginning of 2011 and we will be filming over the next six months.
We are looking for Butcher Shops, so anyone who is interested should get in touch either by emailing retailtherapy(at)animo.ie or calling Laura on 01 6468246
